World Oceans Day is a celebration to honor our global ocean and its profound connection to our lives. This event aims to increase awareness of the pivotal role the ocean plays and encourages individuals to take action to protect it, beginning right in our local communities. Explore various activity and learning stations at the Brandywine Zoo, situated along the Brandywine River. Accredited by the American Zoological Association and managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the backing of the Delaware Zoological Society, the zoo is a hub for environmental stewardship.
World Oceans Day takes place on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10am – 3:30pm at the Brandywine Zoo, situated at 1001 N Park Dr, Wilmington, DE 19802. The Chesapeake Mermaid’s performance will begin promptly at 12pm. The event is part of the admission to the Brandywine Zoo. Members with a valid card and children under 3 years old enjoy free entry. For children aged 3-17 years, the admission fee is $7.00, while adults (18-61 years) can attend for $9.00. Seniors aged 62 and above can access the event for $8.00.
